Since the creation of the world , the intention of the Most High is to maintain a close relationship with human being . God has always been looking for people who wanted to have this partnership with him, so that he could inspire them, protect them and guide them to a fulfilling life . And it was precisely this sincere and faithful desire that the Lord found in Abraham. From this man who became an example of faith for all mankind , God formed a special nation to reveal to the world his glorious power.
However, the descendants of Abraham, while being the chosen people by God himself, they didn’t persevere in this relationship with Him . Once away from God, eventually, became slaves in Egypt for over 400 years. Tired of putting up with the pain of slavery, they cried out for help to the LORD . That was when God raised up Moses, who like Abraham, was willing to cooperate with His plans, leading the people to freedom from the hands of Pharaoh . During the walk through the desert , a special request : God asks Moses to build a tabernacle so that He may dwell with His people.
“Let them make Me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them.” Exodus 25.8
The edification of the work was done by Solomon , David’s son and successor on the throne of Israel. Since then, the people were in constant communion and relationship with the Most High. Peace reigned over Israel.
But after a while, the Israelites strayed from God’s ways . Without the protection of the Most High, the Babylonians invaded Jerusalem and destroyed the Temple in 586 ( B.C ) . After 70 years , the Temple was rebuilt by the Israelites, renewing their covenant with the Almighty. However, years later, they turn away from God again, and this time the Romans destroyed the building a second time.
