Founder of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God, Bishop Edir Macedo, 64 years old, was born in Rio de Janeiro. In 1963, he began a career as a civil servant. He started by working with the state-run lottery of Rio de Janeiro, Loterj, and also worked at the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, IBGE, as a researcher in the economic census of 1970. He had completed 16 years of civil service when he left his career to spread the Word of God, a decision that was considered by some at the time to be madness.
As an evangelical writer, Edir Macedo stands out with more than 10 million books sold, and over 34 titles published. Some of his best-sellers are “The Character of God Series” and “In the Footsteps of Jesus”. Both surpassed the mark of three million copies sold in Brazil.
Married to Ester Bezerra for 36 years, he has two daughters with her: Cristiane, Viviane and an adopted son, Moises. Edir Macedo insists on pointing out the unconditional support he receives from his wife. He states that women fulfill an important role in the family. She teaches her children in the ways of the faith, takes care of her husband, and of the house. All in all, she lives a hectic day-to-day life. But the principal characteristic of a woman of God is that she does all this under the direction of the Lord.

Bishop Renato Cardoso has been in ministry since 1989 and has seen lives transformed by God’s power in very practical ways. The message he preaches is more than mere Bible lessons, but a way of life that he has practiced since he first came to know God in a real and personal way. For Pastor Renato, it’s all about being in constant contact with God and allowing Him to do what He has always wanted – to let us succeed in life.
“I discovered fairly early in life that things do not always tum out the way you want them to. Life can at times be cruel, even for those who are trying their best to live a good life. But I discovered something else too, that faith could do things for me and my family that nothing else could. I came to know God as a young man, really fed up with the way my parent’s family was falling apart.
Bishop Renato, author of the book “The Profile of the Youth of God”, has returned to the US after 13 years of ministry in London, England. He and his wife Cristiane have been married for 20 years and have a 18-year-old son, Filipe.

is married and a mother to a teenage son. Raised in a Christian home, she met God for the first time in her teens and since then she has counseled women from all walks of life from all parts of the world. She’s the writer of the book Better Than a New Pair of Shoes and V-women.I grew up keeping loads of different diaries – daily and “angst ridden” diaries. My hardships were usually best met when I put them down on paper. Through my writing, I felt closer to God and often felt better and relieved. I guess the lonely times were to my advantage, because I ended up acquiring the habit of writing the very things I could not express with my lips.I practically grew up in the church. I was born in 1973 in Rio de Janeiro and in 1977, my father left his career and comfort zone in order to take heed of God’s calling. I was obviously too young to remember any of it, but I do recall feeling uncomfortable at the fact that we were no longer attending our regular church on Sundays. We’ve been working in Houston since December 2008.

I have recently written a book, 40 Secrets for the Single Woman. The aim of this book is to work as a guide for young women. What I had in mind when I wrote the book was to make an impact in society and help the young girls of today to understand that having good principles can take you to good places in life, especially when the subject is love.
I feel I can talk about it because I have applied it in my life and it really works! It was not easy, but today I reap the good fruits of the principles I have followed, even when it was very hard. I have been married for 16 great years and my marriage is one of the best parts of my life.
